Wouldn't be shocked to see the Titans get to 8 or 9 wins but, at the same time, they still have games upcoming including this week at Houston then at home against Arizona, Indy and San Diego.

I'm gonna say they win 9 to tell you the truth though with their only loss out of those 4 coming to Indy. My reasoning is that by the time they play San Diego at the end of the year, the Chargers will already have locked up the West and have Billy Volek behind center with a backup cast of characters.

Could 9-7 get you into the playoffs in the AFC? Is 9-7 even trully realistic for a team who started 0-6? The way they're running the ball right now and playing defense, it just might be...

#1 If Belichick had gotten the first down the media would have praised him. The opposite happened so they're tearing him apart. The media is as fickle as a 11 year old girl.

#2 I agree with Pat C. Given the frequent nasty weather in Buffalo the Bills need a run-oriented coach and who is better than Shanahan?

#3 The Titans will keep rolling and end the season at 10-6. That's right, 10 straight wins. You heard it here first.

While I actually liked the Belichick decision in going for it on 4th down, I thought it was awful play calling. If you were going to go for it on 4th Down anyway, why not run the ball w/2 yards to go on 3rd and 4th. That's point number 1. Point 2 is, even if you still get to that 4th and 2 and really want to throw the football, why do a 1 yard pass to Kevin Faulk? Last I checked, your team has Randy Moss, Wes Welker and Benjamin Watson and, even Faulk, who is more than capable or running a 4 yard out or quick slant...

I think Buffalo would be a great fit for Shanahan...he comes from an organization in Denver which is very similar...a devout fan base (regardless of how good or bad the team is), a great owner who cares about winning and sub zero winter temperatures...

The only thing that may hold Shanahan back from signing on for the job is the amount of good jobs which may come available this off-season...

(Tennessee, Washington (still a good spot for the right coach), Carolina, Chicago)

...to me, the perfect fit for Shanahan would actually be in Chicago. He'd be re-united with his Franchise QB and, let's face it, short of not only making the playoffs but, winning at least one playoff game, the Bears are going to dump Lovie Smith in the off-season. Heck, even if they were to make the playoffs and win a game or two, I'm not so sure the Bears wouldn't give Lovie the axe if they thought they could get Shanahan.

As good as the Bills opening appears from an organizational standpoint, the Bears seems as good if not better considering they're much closer to being a winner than the Bills are.

As I alluded to in my last blog, the amount of coverage dedicated to the Belichick 4th and 2 call is disturbing. It dominated sports talk for the first half of this week. It’s fairly interesting that people are split pretty much 50/50 on whether they would have punted or gone for it, but they beat this story into the ground. Considering how much of an egomaniac Belichick is, look for the Pats to really run it up on the struggling Jets at home.

The silver-lining of being so bad that you have to fire your coach is the amount of talented unemployed coaches there are to choose from. I personally would go after Mike Shanahan. He can turn bums into 1,000 yard rushers and being able to run the ball and control the clock is so important.

None of the sub .500 teams really knock my socks off, but if I had to choose one to make a run at it I’d pick the Bears. I think the NFC North is weaker than the NFC South (Panthers) and the AFC East (Jets & Dolphins).
